SAAFF ANNUAL ROADSHOW 2026

– MEMBERS ONLY –

Not another stakeholder meeting a platform to co-create the future of legitimate trade facilitation, with you, our members at the centre of it all

SAAFF’s National Trade Facilitation Division is taking RESOLVE: From Friction to Flow across South Africa — creating a practical engagement platform where industry and government can move beyond identifying challenges and begin designing solutions together.

Importantly, this national initiative has been formally registered with the Commissioners of both SARS and the Border Management Authority (BMA), underscoring the strategic importance of creating a more predictable, coordinated and enabling trade environment.

A significant drawcard will be the participation of senior SARS leadership within each region, providing industry with an opportunity to engage directly with decision-makers on the operational realities affecting the movement of legitimate trade.

The objective is not simply to discuss what is not working. RESOLVE is designed to co-create what should work better.

Through structured dialogue between SARS, relevant government stakeholders and industry, the sessions will focus on practical opportunities to:

  • identify recurring operational and regulatory friction points affecting legitimate trade;
  • interrogate existing processes and procedures through the experience of both government and industry;
  • co-create improved processes, procedures and interventions that can be implemented in practice;
  • strengthen consistency, predictability and coordination across regions and ports of entry;
  • identify opportunities for digitalisation, simplification and smarter regulatory intervention;
  • improve communication and escalation mechanisms between government and the private sector; and
  • translate stakeholder engagement into measurable interventions that reduce friction while protecting compliance and revenue integrity.

Four cities. One shared goal.

27 October – Western Cape | 28 October – Eastern Cape | 29 October – KwaZulu-Natal | 03 November – Gauteng

This is an opportunity for freight forwarders, customs professionals, importers, exporters, logistics operators and other stakeholders to bring the operational issues that matter to the table — but, more importantly, to help build the solutions.

The future of trade facilitation cannot be designed by government or industry in isolation. It requires a trusted partnership in which regulatory objectives and commercial realities are understood together.

RESOLVE provides that table.

From friction to flow | From issues to interventions| From consultation to co-creation.
